Historian and teacher Mandy Littlefield is the creator of Mandy’s Royalty, an online trove of royal research. It has always been her passion to bring the history of Britain and its monarchy to her fellow Americans.
Mandy made her first trip to London with her husband in 2008.
Mandy’s interest in the monarchy began in 1997 at age seventeen. Her grandmother’s stories, as well as genealogy research, led Mandy to her English roots and, subsequently, an interest in the country’s system of government.
From the ancient rituals of monarchy to the national debates on the institution itself, the Royal Family was fast becoming a favorite topic in Mandy’s house.
Through much reading and research, Mandy discovered that the Royal Family was an incredible living representation of history in Britain. She also found that Her Majesty the Queen is a marvelous lady who is tirelessly dedicated to crown, country, and Commonwealth. In 1998, “Mandy’s British Royalty” was born to document Mandy’s research and her admiration for the Queen.
Mandy is also passionate for a strong connection to Britain in general:
The house that is modern America was built on a British foundation. Our type of government, our laws … We need to remember our roots. If we lose touch with that, then we weaken the bond between two great nations.
